Text alerts from the North Smyrna Elementary PTO are optional and off by default. There is exactly one way to turn them on: a parent opens the PTO app, goes to Settings, enters their own mobile number, and switches on Text alerts. No one can add a number on someone else’s behalf, and no number is collected anywhere else, on this site or on paper.

What is sent
Urgent school notifications only: closures, early dismissals and safety alerts. Message frequency varies with what happens at school, and in a normal year that is a handful of messages. Fundraisers, events and reminders are never texted; they live in the app and on this site.
Stopping and getting help
Reply STOP to any message and the texts stop. Reply HELP for contact details for the PTO. The switch above turns them off again at any time. Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
