Why an app, when the website already works?

The app and this website are mirror images of each other. The same notifications, the same calendar, the same everything. Neither one replaces the other, and you never have to install anything.

What changes is how easily the information reaches you. An icon on your home screen is one tap. A website is remembering to go and look. Most of us already live in apps, and the difference over a school year is the difference between catching things and catching up on them.

The app can also send a notification, which a website simply cannot do. Reminders before a deadline, a heads up about an event, and above all the urgent ones. A website cannot buzz a phone that is face-down on a nightstand at six in the morning. When school closes for snow, the app can reach you before you have put the coffee on. Everything on this site is accurate the moment you open it. The app is what tells you to open it.
